East Tennessee Ozone Study – Meeting Now Taking Shape

December 20, 2005

As previously mentioned, ETOS is a Congressionally-mandated study of air quality issues affecting eastern Tennessee and the Great Smokies National Park. Ozone exceedances are becoming more frequent, and are affecting the region as a whole. For some time, the Congressional sponsors of the work have been requesting a public meeting to examine ETOS results so far, consider related scientific efforts, and plan for future work.

The meeting is now taking shape. It will be held at the Pollard Auditorium, in Oak Ridge, on 17-18 May 2006. A strong Congressional presence is expected, from both houses.
