Oklahoma City Study Under Way
July 10, 2003
The multi-agency Joint Urban 2003 study of urban meteorology and dispersion is now under way. Scientists of the Air Resources Laboratory are playing central roles. Most of the personnel of the Field Research Division at Idaho Falls are now in Oklahoma City, conducting the tracer studies that are the key to the experiments. Several scientists from Oak Ridge are also taking part, mainly to provide surface data and to document upwind meteorological conditions. The NOAA Twin Otter aircraft is participating in the study, as a part of the NOAA/ARL contribution to the overall program.
